Janet Ahlbrecht Introduces herself
“Hello.” My name is Janet Ahlbrecht. I want to tell you why I like working with children and a little about my background with them.
First of all, I know selecting a Child Care-Preschool for your child is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. This is a crucial time in the development of your child.
This is one of the reasons I wanted to have a Child Care -Preschool , because I care about children and I want them to have a healthy start before they enter into the “real world”. It is important that you, as a parent, have peace-of-mind during your work day about your child.
My professional and personal background with children consists of:
1982 - Began as an Assistant Manager/Teacher at Stacey’s Child Care. When Stacy had her baby I managed the entire Child Care.
1984 - Was married and became a mom in 1986.
1980s - Helped run Shelia’s Child Care in Sacramento for 5 years.
1987 - Became a single parent.
1988 - Watched twin boys full time. They were 1 year old.
1989 - Started an Early Childhood Education Program at American River College. Taught 3-5 year olds Sunday School at Capital Christian Center.
1990-1991 - Performed volunteer work at American River College with 3-5 year olds.
1990-1992 - I was a Substitute Teacher at Discovery Learning Center (formerly Discovery Tree).
1992 - Volunteered weekly at Arcade Baptist Church caring for 3-5 year olds.
1993 - Graduated from American River College with a Degree in Early Childhood Education.
1993 - Began operating Happy Hearts Childcare & Preschool in my home.
My years of experience and enjoyment of children are what make me a good child care provider. I am here to help your children have the best learning and fun experience that they can possibly have.
